Member Privilege Protection

Our Checking Accounts Now Feature Member Privilege Protection

(Benefit for Qualified Members)

Member Privilege Protection is designed to protect you from the embarrassment and expense of returned checks when you make an honest mistake in your checkbook and it leaves you a “little short” to cover all your outstanding checks.

As an alternative to returning, unpaid, non-sufficient fund items, Member Privilege Protection allows us to consider, without obligation on our part, payment of your reasonable overdrafts as long as you maintain your account in good standing.

A Member Privilege Protection fee will apply to each item that would create an overdraft on your account. The credit union will send you a notice each time an overdraft occurs.

Qualification Requirements for Member Privilege Protection

Members must:

  • Be over the age of 18
  • Have maintained a checking account in good standing for 3 months
  • Keep a minimum balance of $25.00 in primary share account
  • Keep updated address and phone number information with credit union
  • Make sufficient deposits to cover transactions
  • Bring account(s) to positive balance by end of 30th overdrawn day
  • Have no delinquent loans or credit cards with the credit union
  • Have no restrictions on accounts, i.e. garnishment, levy, bankruptcy, charged off loans or accounts
  • Have no questionable activity on any accounts
  • Not exceed your Member Privilege Protection limit

Member Privilege Protection Limits:

Tier #1

$250.00 = Member must have an open checking account in good standing for a minimum of three (3) months. No direct deposit is required for this tier.

Tier #2

$500.00 = Member must have an open checking account in good standings for a minimum of three (3) months. Direct Deposit is required for this tier.
